Last night in LA Lisa & Jess attended the premier of The Runaways, staring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. Although I was happy see that the girls were actually recognized and photographed at the premier, I was very disappointed to see Jess with a cigarette in her hand – I just can’t believe that somebody who is so conscious about what they put in their body would choose to smoke. From someone who is watching a close family member suffer the long term affects of what smoking does to you, I hope its nothing more than a social smoke!

Yeah, I think she looks like an idiot.
EVERYONE these days knows what smoking can do to you.
She doesn’t look cool. She doesn’t look pop.
She looks like a child who is acting out.
Overall The Veronicas have been going down a path, I’m not too sure of. America has changed them, big time.
And that video. Lisa didn’t even stop for any fans. Jess stopped for one, but then snobbed the others to party. THE FANS MADE YOU FAMOUS. Show them some respect. All they want is a photo. There were barely 10 people there. It would of taken 5 minutes…

Yes Ebony I agree with what you said.Jess bangs on and on and on about people shouldn’t eat this or this and that she doesn’t want that disgusting stuff in her body and now she’s smoking……wow smart girl.
I also hate what Lisa wrote about the pic of Jess smoking,it doesn’t make her look badass it makes her look stupid and if she’s doing it because she thinks it makes her look cool or because all her friends do it then she is not the girl I thought she was.
I used to love how individual Jess was and how she didn’t change the way she acted to fit in or to suit other peoples standards but now it seems to me that she has changed herself to be like certain freinds that she has made over the past few years,I could be completely wrong but either way the way she has been acting for quite a while now has really disappointed me.

On a lighter note I can’t wait to here all the new music they have been writing!!

I put up with a lot of people saying a lot of shit about me, but the one thing I will not be accused of is not supporting Lisa & Jess. If you think thats bitching, you need to grow up or re-read my post. I am not trying to tell Jess what to do, I am just saying what I think, and believe me I could of said a lot more in that post. And yes it is Jess’ choice whether she smokes or not, LTV can’t just ignore something like this, I’ve had SO many fans contacting me expressing their disappointment in her smoking.

At the end of the day it’s her life and she can do whatever she wants. But just the fact that she’s so into keeping her body healthy…..it seems kinda odd and almost hypocritical….I remember she once wore a t-shirt that says smoking kills, which seemed to be advocating anti-smoking but I guess I was wrong.
I just think its a damn shame.
And to think she finds it cool (reference to twitter pic) is almost infantile….but then again I can’t hate on that ideology. As I too have been influenced by the distructive social association of smoking cigarettes to being cool….so have billions!

well……they are 25, and they are wayyyyy over the tobacco purchasing law. eventhough i didn’t really want to see her with cigarette in hand, they are grown up. my father smokes and you think that doesn’t bother me? think again. but that’s is her decision. if she wants to poison her lungs with those cancer sticks she can.

‘Decent enough fans’ Ahh. I see. So because I think the girls should of taken more time out of their night to sign and have photos with fans who had been waiting for THEM. I’m not a decent fan? Just remember. Without the fans. The Veronicas wouldn’t exist in mainstream music. I think they were both rude and selfish. Lisa more so.
And as for the smoking. I’m not saying she can’t. I believe everyone can do what they want etc. But again, it’s selfish. She’s not only putting her life at risk, but those around her, passive smoking has a very large death rate.
And what would you then say if Lisa got cancer because of Jess’ smoking? It’s not Lisa’s choice that Jess smokes. An dramatic scenario but one that COULD happen.
So kindly get a grip of yourself and try and have a mature conversation. Being a fan does not mean ‘blind love’ If you can’t find any fault in your favourite singers/actors then you’re just deluded.
And I’d like you to find another Veronica fan site that is HALF decent to LTV.

Ebony, Niki and Ben, I’m extremely happy to finally meet people who don’t agree with everything their favourite stars do/say. It’s a nice change from all the others ^^
And as much as I adore Jess, as an ex-smoker I can assure everybody that there is no such thing as a social smoke. You continue after one, you’re a smoker (and an addict), period. Simonaque.
Just so everyone knows, Lisa posted on The Veronicas message board about that video clip and this is what she said:
“the guys asking for ‘autographs’ were from ebay.. wanting to sell them online.. and had been following us around the entire night.
When one of the guys asked me to sign something.. I asked him what our bands name was… and he couldn’t even tell me!!!! He said.. umm.. uhh… well…. ?! That just said it all!!”
I don’t know what to think really,all i know is that Jess and Lisa have changed their look,personatlities and music alot but not all of those changes are bad.No smoking is not a great thing and i don’t think its a good thing to do but if jess wants to do it let her go ahead there is nothing we can do about it and at the end of the day if she wants to smoke she will.

So she’s never acted on something she’s seen without knowing all the facts? I think everyone would of presumed that it was a fan and not someone from eBay. But whatever, that’s solved that issue for me.
I think it’s dumb of her to smoke. Not just because cigarettes are bad for your body (not to mention vocal chords) but because they are made by poor children who are forced to work. I just watched a documentary about child labour, and nearly all cigarettes are made by children in factories.
Just be thankful it wasn’t weed or anything like that! Give Jess a bit of credit!
