Most of you would have read stories in some sections of the media over the last couple of weeks about Jess having anorexia. As usual the media is after a story any way that they can get one even if they have to make it up. Put on a few kilos and you are fat, loose a couple and you have an eating disorder! I’m just so sick of it! Anyway this is what Lisa had to say about it in her interview with OK Magazine. “Q: Jess has lost quite a lot of weight recently. Do you worry about her health at all? A: Not at all, I spend 24/7 with that girl and I know exactly what she puts in her mouth. In the past year she’s developed a vegan diet, so she tends to eat more vegetarian [now]. We’ll be the first tell you that we do love our food! People shouldn’t be worried about Jessie, because, trust me, she’s got Dean looking out for her now too. There are absolutely no health issues and if there were, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.” So there is the real story from someone who knows. My advice to the media would be to go and report on some real news..or atleast get your facts straight!

Look out, Tegan and Sara! Here come the Veronicas — the spunky, electro-poppy Australian quintet led by 23-year-old identical twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso. Down Under, they’re superstars who regularly sell out arenas, win awards and have their own clothing line at Target. Here they’re still trying to break through. We caught up with the super-friendly Jessica over the phone a couple of hours before their performance in Baltimore What are the hours leading up to a show like for you? Are you nervous?
Jessica Origliasso: A little! A lot of stuff happens. We usually spend an hour doing makeup and picking an outfit. And then we all, like, do a chant.
You do a chant?
We’ll do a really stupid chant before we go on. Just, like, we put all our hands in and go, “Veronicas, Veronicas…,” and then we’ll come up with something to say that day. Like, I dunno, one time it was “Ride that bull, bitch, yeah!” We had seen this mechanical bull that day, so it was “Ride that bull, bitch!” It could be anything that day that anyone’s come up with.
Awesome. So who was the first musician you saw when you were young — either live or on TV — where you were like, “I want to do that.”
Oh, Michael Jackson, for sure! When we saw him in ’96, we fell in love with him. We had a Michael Jackson shrine, with flags and posters and T-shirts and stuff. And every year on his birthday, we’d have a birthday cake and spend the day learning his dances and watching his videos.
Is it still cool to hear your songs when they come on the radio?
Yeah, I love it! I have a funny story. My boyfriend that I’m with now, he’s in kind of this indie band in Australia. Anyway, so the first night we went out on a date, he took me out on this boat ride, and then we took a cab back, and my song came on the radio. And I was like, “Yes. Awesome. I look so cool right now.” So we get out and he was like, “Yeah, so…you like Pink, I guess?” And I was like, “What?” He’s like, “Obviously you like Pink — you were just listening to the radio and singing along,” and I was like, “That’s not Pink, that was me!” He had no idea. He was like, “Oh, my gosh, I’m sorry. I don’t listen to the radio.”

Chris Carle got to chat with one half of the twin sister due from Down Under.
US, July 18, 2008 – The twin sisters Origliasso (Lisa and Jessica), better known together as The Veronicas, are quite huge in their native Australia.
The duo are preparing the U.S. release of their sophomore effort, Hook Me Up, which was released in their home land in October of 2007.
Hook Me Up represents the follow-up to the girl’s debut, The Secret Life Of….
“It’s been more than two years since we wrote the first record so our musical tastes have changed a bit,” Lisa says. “We’ve been living in Los Angeles where we got into the whole electro-pop rock scene. When it came time to write the album, we were really inspired by it musically.”
Hook Me Up was recorded at Lisa and Jess’s home in the Hollywood Hills and sees the duo collaborating with Shelly Peiken (Christina Aguilera), Greg Wells (Mika), John Feldmann (The Used, Good Charlotte), and Billy Steinberg (Madonna). They also wrote a number of songs with Toby Gad, who contributed three tracks to Secret Life Of… and may best be known for penning Fergie’s 2007 hit “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”
We recently caught up with the girls (actually Jess) to discuss their latest project.

Lisa came on TVMB today and cleared up a few of the rumours that have been going around. Heres what she had to say:
“All I will say is whatever was said on Kyle and Jackie O is completely UNTRUE! Dean has always stuck by his beliefs, and ew.. I would NEVER go back to Ry.. we are just good friends, and he is in a happy commited relationship from what I know.. Its not like I’ve talked to him for a while.”
For anyone who missed out on the chaos on TVMB today. Let me just say this. There was a few people that came on the board today with accusations of Lisa cheating and hacking her own myspace for attention. I was online the whole argument and didn’t see/read anything that made me think other than that these people are full of crap and for some reason want to hurt our Lisa. I’m not sure why the Dean Geyer fans feel the need to come on our board and put Lisa down. What ever happened between Dean and Lisa is their business and not ours.
It would be best if you don’t start topics on TVMB asking what happened, because its way to long and a very touchy subject – and we don’t want to start it up again. Please understand that some things are better left alone.

By now most of you would of heard that the newspapers/radio/internet/tv are all running stories about Jess’ so called ‘porn photos’ being posted on a porn site yesterday. I have added a newspaper story to the gallery just so you get the idea of what is being reported. You will also notice that we have deleted the so called ‘porn photos’ from the story because we feel that it is wrong for the photos of Jess to continue to be circulated. This story is being blown way out of proportion and I really think this is a time when us fans really need to show our support to Jess. We will always love you Jess.
Lisa and Jess visited Alloy recently to talk about their recent tour with Natasha Bedingfield and Kate Voegele and tell us about what it’s like living on a tour bus!
The VMA’S nominees for best pop video have been announced and unfortunately The Veronicas have missed out on a nomination this year. I’m sure it didn’t help that MTV didn’t put The Veronicas in the list so that we could vote for them until a week after everyone else. Hopefully the girls will be nominated next year!
Exciting news!! Today Lisa and Jess shot the Take Me On The Floor film clip, this will be the 4th single released off the Hook Me Up album. I can’t wait to see this one, Take Me On The Floor is my fave song on the album : ) We will keep you posted as to when the clip will be released.
There is a page 3 story in both major Australian newspapers today, one about Ruby & Jess, the other about photos of Jess. I have scanned them and added them to the gallery, but personally I think we need to get back to what The Veronicas are all about and leave their personal lives alone. Anyway, there has been a new photo released from the new photoshoot the girls shot the other day.

After driving 2 hours down to Sydney and waiting for about 4 and half hours in the freezing cold it was finally time for the Dolly Teen Choice Awards red carpet to begin. I wasn’t really interested in any of the other celebs, I was only there for Lisa and Jess. I couldn’t really hear properly over the crowd so I wasn’t sure when the girls had arrived on the carpet. And then..there they were..I had spotted a Veronica! Lisa looked so pretty in a little black top and white skirt and the cute little hat she got from America. And Jess had a pretty pink girly dress on, with sunglasses that said “love sucks” written across them.
The Veronicas were on Channle 9’s today show this morning, with a wrap up of the 2008 Dolly Teen Choice Awards.

Here we go again…another leaked photo has found it’s way onto the pages of the Daily Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential. I’m personally a little over all the crap stories appearing in the media of late. I do realise that you need publicity to remain famous but it must be hard for Lisa & Jess to deal with at times like this.
If you ask me the real truth of the matter is that the newspaper is finding Veronicas scandals are selling papers and because of that they seem prepared to print just about anything.
As for the new leaked photo, I think we should all just stop reading the crap and talk about the things we really love about The Veronicas…their music, style, sense of humor, the fact that they actually talk to their fans and they make great YouTube videos.

Jess was snapped at the LA club – truckstop, partying with a few of her friends. It looks like she was having lots of fun! I think these photos were taken a couple of days after she got back from her quick trip to China. Lisa & Jess visited the Key 103 radio station in Manchester on the 30th of September. They recorded a live session for the In:Demand show (that should be available to watch soon). We have some lovely photos of the girls while they were recording the session & signing autographs for fans after the show. I have to say that I really love Lisa’s hair at the moment, it looks absolutely gorgeous! And don’t you just love Jess in green?! Theres just something about that colour that makes her look even more beautiful than usual.

Hey guys <3 Our apologizes again to anyone that was trying to access the site tonight, the on going problems that we have been having with wordpress (which is our blog updating program) are continuing. I thought we’d made it through the week without this happening! Ooo but one positive thing that has happened tonight is that I have figured out how to backup everything LTV Voting Club forum so that means that the problems will the main site will have no impact on the club. xx
The Veronicas have arrived in Bogota today ahead of their performance at the 2009 Latin America VMAs. The girls were greeted at the airport by heavy security and have personal security through their stay. I think it it so cool! I can’t wait to see the girls performance tomorrow, very exciting!

We’ve just added some screen caps from The Veronicas performance of Untouched at the Latin America MTV Music Awards. It was a really rocking performance! And the very large crowd seemed to enjoy every moment of it. It took me almost the whole clip to figure out what Jess’ top says, but it says Femme Fatal – lol Jess we couldn’t agree more! ;) & Lisa is so cute, don’t you just want to put her in your pocket and take her home?!
Hey guys! We are sort of back, you will notice the different URL (because we have set this temporary site up for the time being), we will use this until we can sort out the many issues with our other wordpress. We haven’t got many of our news stories on the site, because of some error transferring the data, but that is being sorted out at the moment. We’ve also had to ditch the idea of changing to another program because we will have issues with loosing our information. We have found out a number of things that were causing the white screen of death, and hopefully got rid of most of the problems. Also, wordpress are also currently working on a fix for this major problem. Anyway enough about that crap, the important thing is that we will be updating the site as usual and hopefully you won’t even be able to notice all of the work going on in the back ground :) Sorry about the inconvenience, I know its been a pain in the ass! But hopefully the worst of it is behind us now. By the way, anyone sending in Ellen videos – I need them by Monday night. Thanks everyone that has sent theirs in so far, you guys look gorgeous! xx
We recieved a lovely email from Toby Gad Films today letting us know that all the behind the scenes videos are working fine now. If you haven’t already checked these vids out I highly recommend that you watch In Another Life and Lisa V’s the Coconut. I just watched the Making of Untouched which includes some great footage of the girls bitch slapping each other and lol Jess telling Lisa that she has a Drag Queen voice. Also, I’m going to have a little rant… Watching “This Love” again just then I have to ask why it has only ever been released as a single in Australia? Why the hell wouldn’t it be released as say the second single in the USA or UK!! It is a beautiful song that would have been the perfect choice to show a different side of The Veronicas after the success of Untouched!! Sorry but while I will support the old songs that are currently being released in US and UK I do not agree that it was the best thing to do.

I don’t really like posting stories like this, and I really don’t like posting stories from this particular newspaper but I just found it hard not to comment on what has been said. Considering that this same newspaper has connected Jess with everyone from Zane Carney to Andy from Short Stack this year – I find it difficult to give this story any creditability what so ever. This may be pure coincidence, but Jess tweeted this quote from Jerry Seinfeld earlier today “People who read the tabloids deserve to be lied to”. That would also suggest to me that this story isn’t entirely true. Anyway, read for yourself.
AFTER almost three years together, the rock’n’roll relationship between Veronicas twin Jess Origliasso and her muso boyfriend Azaria Byrne, of Sydney band The Art, is over. Friends of the couple say the Queensland pair parted ways earlier this month following a mutual decision. “They have a great bond and are still really close, but they’re not together anymore,” a source close to Byrne told Confidential. Jess, who recently bought an apartment in Brisbane and is currently working on a third album with sister Lisa, suggested on her Twitter page yesterday she was far from over Byrne. “Just wrote another f…ing song about you. This Aussie rock-pop phenomena will be bringing their sassy, rebellious and fun blend of electro pop-rock to the Jingle Bell Ball on Sunday 6th December.
The Veronicas will be performing on the 2nd night of the 2 day Jingle Bell Ball, other performers will include Janet Jackson, Shakira, Flo-Rida and Metro Station. Unfortunately if you don’t already have tickets, the only way you can get them is to win them from Capital FM. Hopefully the girls will be doing some other performances and/or promo when they visit the UK for the 3rd time this year!

As most of you guys would know, we have been campaigning to try and get The Veronicas on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Over the past few weeks a bunch of awesome fans and friends of LTV have gotten together and have helped make this video! We are going to send the video along with the petition to WBR to send to Ellen on our behalf. If you haven’t already, please sign the petition!! Watch the video, and commenting it will also help! We hope you like the video, a lot of hard work went into this. Maybe it won’t work, but at least we are giving it a good old fashion try :)

CELEBRITIES Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Ruby Rose, Richard Reid, Dr Kerryn Phelps, Courtney Act, and Jess and Lisa Origliasso from The Veronicas have been recruited to a Federal Government campaign promoting same-sex law reform. They are the first in a raft of celebrities, which will number 85 in all, who have put their hand up for the campaign, which will be launched in February and will promote the passing of 85 same-sex law reforms. The AIDS Council of NSW (ACON) yesterday announced the celebrity line-up and said it is looking for more influential Australians – both celebrities and opinion leaders – to “come out of the closet” for the Wear It With Pride campaign. “We are matching each of the identities with each of the 85 bits of legislation – some with parents’ rights, others superannuation, employee entitlements, privacy rights, tax and insurance. All the many relevant bits of legislation,” said ACON CEO Nick Parkhill. ACON is Australia’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender health and HIV/AIDS organisation. The Government has allocated a budget of only $400,000 to spread the word, so ACON is relying on the generosity of stars with a gay following to help. There has been no word from the Minogue sisters but sources say organisers are hopeful. “It’s really positive as Australia takes a step towards increased equality, however there is a long way to go yet. Gay marriage has not yet been addressed,” Mr Parkhill said.

A new M&C Saatchi campaign looks to celebrate the wins of last year’s suite of legal reforms, which amended 85 pieces of legislation that discriminated against gays and lesbians. People of the GLBTI community who wish to celebrate, or who have directly benefited from the reforms, are being asked to submit their stories to be transformed into 85 inspiring T-shirts. Key Australian designers including Charlie Brown, Jayson Brunsden, Henry Roth and Rachel Gilbert have come on board to design the T-shirts, which will then be modelled by high-profile personalities Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Ruby Rose, Richard Reid, the Origliasso sisters of Veronicas fame, and Dr Kerryn Phelps. “Once completed, each T-shirt will be assigned to an influential community member who will adopt that specific reform and take the message of it to the public,” ACON CEO Nicolas Parkhill said. The widespread campaign will begin in January and will feature a mixture of GLBT and mainstream identities. “These 85 reforms are monumental and a proud signpost on our road to equality,” National LGBT Health Alliance executive director Gabi Rosenstreich said. “They result from years of tireless lobbying and protesting by members and supporters of the LGBT community. The crew on “Styl’D” have already had their way with Kim Kardashian, and they’ll also be making over the Veronicas, Ashley Tisdale, Soulja Boy Tell’em and Sean Kingston. Plus, they promise to bring a lot of their own behind-the-scenes drama to the table.
For instance, some of their favorite moments come from stylist Janna, who fell in the pool, got attacked by a dog and threw up, all in one season. And she insists that that’s only the beginning. “Drama — there’s gonna be tears,” she explained, adding that there’s also going to be some “hooking up.”

As we all know Lisa & Jess are both home in Brisbane at the moment having a break & writting for the third album! Remember when Lisa tweeted last week that she was cleaning out her wardrobe & asked if we wanted her clothes? Well she wasn’t joking! The girls actually had so many clothes that they have a new ebay store called v-closet. I’ve just spent the last hour or so drooling over some of the items, counting my money and trying to think who I can con into getting me some of these awesome clothes, shoes and accessories for Christmas! No shit, they are seriously selling stuff they’ve worn to the ARIA awards, #1 muso awards, on tour etc! Just have a look, I am positive that you will recognize heaps! More items will be added over the coming weeks :)
Well…she did it! Jess chopped all of her beautiful blonde hair off and has replaced it with short black hair! I surprisingly love it, not realizing how much I had missed the classic black hair on Jess. Something else I was very happy about when Jess posted the twitpic is that she has her beautiful natural brown eyes! That we don’t get to see often enough. I still hope to see the blonde Jess sometime in the future, but for now I think that this is a refreshing change. Seeing as everyone really enjoyed voting on the last V poll, I thought it would be fun to put up another one!

Hey guys.. Lis and I thought we would send a little update with what we’ve been up to the past couple of weeks. Things might seem quiet, but the past few weeks we’ve been shacked up making a lot of noise in Brisbane with Jungle George, writing and recording for our third record. We’ve been experimenting with a lot of different sounds for this next record – citing influences from The Subways, The Dead Weather, Mazzy Star, Ladytron and Peaches. We’ve also been doing some writing collaborations as well with Erinn and Matt from Streamer Bendy, and also the amazinng Suzi Quatro (yes that’s right). Also, we’ve been relaxing a fair bit, before we head back to the UK next week for the big Xmas show in London. We’re going to do a video blog while we are in London to say hiii to you cute kids out in Youtube world! (when I say kids.. I don’t actually mean kids.. I even call my older friends kids..ha.) Welllll I’m off to meet up with Jungle and some mates to see a gig! So I’ll speak soon <3 Keep on loving <3 Jessssica and Lis x x
The new December Fashion Range is out in Target (Australia). I think the clothes are super cute, and I definitely think the sequin clothes are very veronica! With all of the veronicas fashion choices for Christmas this year, I think that we will all be very well dressed ;) Don’t forget to keep checking the V-Closet (they do post overseas)!
Hey guys <3 I just wanted to give a quick update on one of the issues LTV is having at the moment, which will only be affecting some of our visitors. It seems that a couple of browsers, & mac users are getting a malware warning when they try to access the LTV main site or gallery. This has been driving me & our host a bit crazy over the past 24 hours – as LTV has no malware! After a lot of investigation, it appears that google have incorrectly diagnosed our site, and we have to wait for them to correct the issue. I’m not sure how quickly that will happen, but I definitely won’t be holding my breath. If you are worried about this problem, maybe just stay away from LTV for the next 24 hours, and keep checking our twitter - I will let people know when the problem has been resolved. But from me to you, I guarentee you that there is no malware or virus of any kind on LTV, this apparently happens to a lot of sites where google incorrectly lists them as having malware. Jess is currently on her way to the UK with Lisa soon to head off from LA to meet up for The Veronicas performance at the 2009 Jingle Bell Ball in London. Its been so quiet lately, that I am really looking forward to having some nice new pictures of the girls, and we will get to see some more photos of Jess’ new short black hair! And on a very happy note, google have finally removed the malware warning from our site – telling us what we knew all along, that our site has no viruses or malware. So if you would please do us a favor and pass it around that LTV is a-okay and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone back soon! :)

Wow! How gorgeous did Lisa & Jess look for their performance at the Jingle Bell Ball?! They performed 4ever & Untouched to a crowd of over 16,000 people at the 02 Arena in London. There should be videos posted later of the performance and backstage interview – which I am really looking forward to seeing the performance in particular. I will say it again…Wow!

I got in trouble for not bringing my schoolbooks. I would just bring a sheet of paper and write songs.” What do you argue about? JESS: “It’s actually unimportant things like who’s just used up the last can of hairspray. LISA: “Yeah, we can spend up to four months together on a tour bus, so we get frustrated. We try not to fight before a show. It happened once and we didn’t make eye contact for the whole show. Jess didn’t introduce me on stage and I didn’t sing harmonies. It’s not a good idea!” Your style and songs are pretty feisty, do you intimidate people? The Veronicas have come in at #52 on Z100’s Top 100 Songs of 2009 with their hit single Untouched! Untouched has been the outstanding success in the US for The Veronicas from their album Hook Me Up. With Lisa & Jess currently working on the new album, I am looking forward to seeing whether they will make it into the top 50 with a new smash hit next year! :) Congratulations Lisa, Jess, Jungle, Vik & Sherman.

Today is a very special day for us Veronicas fans, because not only are we celebrating Christmas, but we are also celebrating the birth of 2 very special ladies that we all adore! Most of you would be aware that our latest fan project has been a Birthday/Christmas video (which you can watch below) and ebook for Lisa & Jess. I had soo many problems getting the video uploaded to the internet! It took me about 12 hours to get the video on youtube after trying youtube many times, myspace, twitvid, vtube and facebook – I have no clue what the problem was, but I was soo relieved when it finally uploaded! My apologies for the simple look of the ebook, I was hoping to have more time to pretty it up but unfortunately with all the dramas I was having with the video I ran out of time – but I think the content is very sweet :) The girls are yet to see the ebook, but Jess has already tweeted the video.
As promised a couple of days ago, Lisa & Jess have uploaded a Christmas surprise for us fans! Its a acoustic version of one of the new songs from their yet to be recorded 3rd album (they will be recording the album in January!). After some of the bizarre tweets about The Veronicas from Courtney Love last year, it seems that they have made up on twitter. I think it is great that both sides have decided to be more civil to each other. Although in my opinion the feud has been fairly one sided for a while now with Courtney going on random rants on her twitter page. Anyway, its great that all that shizz seems to be put in the past! With Jess in particular seeming to succeed in smoothing the waters – here is what Jess had to say: “Oh c’mon Courtney, you know I think you’re great. After we heard that Lisa wasn’t feeling very well, a few of us thought that we would like to cheer Lisa up and let her know that we were thinking of her. So we quickly made her this card and sent her some love. I am SO glad she is ok, and it just turned out to be the stomach flu, but she had us all worried there for a while! I know we’re all probably a little over photos from the Revenge Is Sweeter tour, but I really love these and thought they were a little different from a lot that I’d seen. Looking back at RIS tour photos brings back such amazing memories! Can you believe that it has almost been a year since the RIS tour kicked off on the 13th of February in Newcastle (Australia) last year?! Today Lisa & Jess have gone and got their haircut. By the looks of Lisa’s super cute twitpic, Lisa’s has gotten a shoulder length haircut – which is very different to what she usually has. Tonight Jess attended the First Annual Australian Rolling Stone Awards at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney. This is the first chance we’ve had to see Jess’ new longer dark hair from her visit to the hair dressers the other day. It is awesome to see Jess wearing the trademark Veronicas red lipstick which completes her pretty as a picture outfit! You can check out the photos here.
Most of you would remember a while back, we were trying to get Ellen to notice The Veronicas and have them on the show. We got together with a lot of fans and made the video below. Warner Music forwarded the video to the Ellen show for us all, but we haven’t heard anything back yet.

By now most of you would of already checked out the new look on TheVeronicas.com (sorry for being so slow, I’ve just been a bit busy over the past few weeks). I think its great to see a fresh new look for the site! Hopefully everyone is enjoying the new site :)
I do know that there is something else very exciting happening for Veronicas fans over the next couple of weeks. I’ll bring you more information over the next few days, so keep checking back for updates!
As I mentioned yesterday, there would be some exciting news for Veronicas fans. I’ve just had official word from The Veronicas camp that The Veronicas will be launching a Official Fanclub within the next 2 weeks. There are no details of what we can expect from the fanclub yet, but I am very excited about it and can’t wait for it to open! Last night in LA Lisa & Jess attended the premier of The Runaways, staring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. Although I was happy see that the girls were actually recognized and photographed at the premier, I was very disappointed to see Jess with a cigarette in her hand – I just can’t believe that somebody who is so conscious about what they put in their body would choose to smoke. From someone who is watching a close family member suffer the long term affects of what smoking does to you, I hope its nothing more than a social smoke!

Last night Lisa, Jess & George performed at Dusk nightclub in Atlantic City. They looked gorgeous! Lisa & Jess flew to Atlantic City for the one night performance, taking time out from writing and recording for The Veronicas 3rd album. Terri paid particularly tribute to Steve Irwin’s parents Bob and Lyn, who started the wildlife park in 1970 and ran it for 22 years before it was taken over by Steve and Terri in 1992. Chloe, of Brisbane, is a passionate Joey Ambassador and the highest individual fundraiser for Steve Irwin Day both in 2008 and in 2009, having raised close to $20,000 for conservation projects. The Veronicas were given the gong for their passion for wildlife around the world, including as Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors ambassadors. “Take40.com spoke to LA band Carney today, whose lead singer Reeve is currently dating Lisa of The Veronicas and we asked for the goss! Last night Lisa & Jess appeared on FOX8’s Ultimate School Musical, hosted by Ruby Rose! Ruby invited the girls along for a much needed pep talk for the cast. Along with some encouraging words of advice, Lisa & Jess performed one of their new songs ‘Could’ve Been’. The girls definitely seemed to lift the spirits of the cast! You can view the video below. FHM Australia have published their 100 Sexiest Women in the World list. Beating the likes of Kim Kardashian, Ruby Rose and Lady Gaga – The Veronicas have come in at #34 on this years list! Here is what FHM wrote about Lisa & Jess coming in at #34: “Much to our delight, the Origliasso twins have been oh-wriggling their sexy assos on the world stage since 2005, and at a still-tender combined age of 50, there’s plenty of glorious wriggling yet to come.” Congrats girls! :) Personally, I think its great when the ‘The Veronicas’ are included on any of these types of lists, but why can’t the girls be nominated separately? Today The Veronicas attended the 12th Annual Young Hollywood Awards that were held at the Ebell Theater in Los Angeles. The girls looked gorgeous in their lovely long dresses and I’m assuming that their jewelry was by Fables! I really like Jess’ key, she seems to really like that length of necklace and it really suits her :) Lisa’s necklace is really cute! Today a exclusive preview of Michael Paynter’s new song “Love The Fall” (featuring his good friends Lisa & Jess!) has been uploaded to youtube. Last week the girls were on location in a forest (according to these cryptic tweets from Jess – “Didn’t believe me? I’m not sleeping tonight………” & “I found someone in the forest .. 330am“) for the filming of his music video. The video will be released soon – can’t wait to see it!
Looks like we have a rather interesting photoshoot to look forward to – “Had the best photoshoot of our lives with @kristinburns & @leilababoi Alters, magik, guns, water, babes.. AND Jesus and Mary were there…..“. Above, are two photos from the girls twitter’s (which I’m assuming are from before/after/during the photoshoot) – I find the picture of Jess really interesting, mainly because of the necklace she is wearing which appears to say ‘slave’. Maybe the photoshoot will be used for publicity leading up to the release of the new single which should be out around August/September! Also Lisa tweeted this adorable video to Reeve!

The Veronicas are featured in the movie soundtrack for the movie Hanni and Nanni, a German film about 2 twins attending a boarding school, which is based on the popular books series written by Enid Blyton. The Veronicas have recorded 2 new songs for the movie, “Us Against the World” and “The Wild Side” both which can be previewed on Itunes here. Unfortunately the songs are not available for individual download, so in order to listen to the full versions, you must purchase the full soundtrack. Snippets of the songs are also featured in the Movies Trailer
Rumour has it that the Hanni and Nanni songs were some fun children’s pop songs made for a kids movie. If people are expecting a kids pop album from The Veronicas they might be in for a bit of a shock!

“ARIA award winning pop rock group the Veronicas are suing their former Australian merchandiser, claiming they have not been paid for sales since December.
In a writ lodged with the Victorian Supreme Court on Wednesday, the band is suing Designworks Clothing Company Pty Ltd (DCC), which had the multi-million dollar exclusive licence to sell their merchandise in Australia and New Zealand.
The company is yet to file a defence.
The Veronicas – twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso – claim in a written agreement in March 2007, DCC agreed to pay them 12 per cent of royalties on all wholesale sales within 30 days.
It had also agreed to spend three per cent of all its wholesale sales on marketing The Veronicas merchandise.
In April the agreement was concluded when The Veronicas appointed an alternative licensee to sell their merchandise.
The sisters claim in the writ that they have not been paid the 12 per cent of royalties since December.
They also say the merchandiser has failed to report to them since December and has not spent three per cent of sales on marketing the band.”

Here is what Jess tweeted yesterday about the show – “Excited for the show on the 15th in Atlantic city.. We *might* even be playing a new song…………………or 3.. ;)“.
Earlier this week Lisa jetted off to Sweden for some more recording and writing for The Veronicas new album – you can view a couple of photos of Lisa inside the recording studio here. On Jess’ way to join Lisa in Sweden, her flight had a major mechanical failure and had to return to LA. Jess tweeted “Right side of the engine failed, plane drops, fuel spills out over the wing, and before I know it I’m back in La…..” – I’m SO glad that Jess is okay :) I’m sure you’ll all agree! After about a days delay, Jess is now on her way to Sweden again and should be arriving there within a few hours. A couple of days ago Jess met Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols! Earlier this year the ‘Wear It With Pride‘ campaign was launched in Australia to show support for the reform of the 85 Federal laws that discriminated against same-sex couples and their families. To celebrate, 85 artists designed 85 t-shirts for 85 influential Australian’s to wear it with pride! The Veronicas are reform 42 – ‘Love Always’. “Why have you chosen to represent this same-sex law reform campaign? Everyone has a different life-story, and a different point-of-view. Anything that inhibits anyone’s ability to be who they are, or limits their legal rights because of it, clearly needs to change. These reforms are important for every Aussie.
What sorts of same-sex discrimination have you as / anyone you know experienced? We live our lives in the spotlight, and Jess in particular has copped a lot of flack for being open with her sexuality. We’ve also seen a lot of our friends deal with narrow-mindedness in their lives, and have admired how they have never let it stop them expressing who they are.
How do you think these reforms will make a difference to your life, or to the lives of those close to you? While they don’t influence our lives directly, it is a huge step forward for our society as a whole. They aren’t just a victory for the gay community, they’re a victory for all Aussies who think we should be free to spend our lives with the person we love, regardless of gender, race, religion, or anything else. We can’t enjoy that freedom unless we have the rights to support it.
Why do you think people should wear these 85 law reforms with pride? It’s important that our laws reflect how accepting Australia is becoming, and that they help to accelerate the process, rather than hold-it-back. Now that they’re starting to, we need to celebrate it and encourage it to continue.
Why do you think this is a huge step forward for Australia? Australia is a fairly conservative country, full of fairly liberal people. By society acknowledging the rights of same-sex relationships, we’re helping to remove the stigma of being gay, and we’re giving the whole community permission to be more accepting.
What do you like about your T-Shirt design? The fact that each t-shirt is designed by a different artist, each with her/his own message, means that each shirt stands for something different. Each tells its own story, and has it’s own perspective, but all of them stand for the same, important cause. Having said that, we mainly like that ours is really cute, and “Love Always” is a great message for everyone.”

Billy Corgan tweets ‘love’ for Jess Origliasso
Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan has confirmed his relationship with Veronicas singer Jessica Origliasso via Twitter.
Corgan, 43, sent the 25-year-old Australian pop star a series of romantic tweets over the weekend telling the Twittersphere how eager he was to see her after a tour.
“Looking forward to seeing @jessicaveronica tomorrow and all the wonderful presents she got for me in Sweden and Atlantic City!!! Can’t wait!,” Corgan tweeted.
“Love is: getting presents from someone who loves you!!
“If the only the world knew how giving @jessicaveronica really is. Full of surprises.”
Origliasso retweeted one of the postings and told Corgan she would make him cry “when I get my hands on you tomorrow”.
In April the two were spotted at the Trademark Hotel in Kings Cross.

Looks like we’re going to have to wait just a little bit longer for The Veronicas new album. Lisa had previously tweeted (a few weeks ago) that we could expect the new music to be out later this year, but according to Jess’ tweet from a couple of days ago, its going to be early 2011 when the new album comes out. Although I’m a little disappointed that it won’t be out this year, I would rather the girls take the time that they need and release a kickass album! Regardless of when we get the new single/album I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait, and in the meantime we have the 3 new songs that the girls performed in Atlantic City last week (Set It Off, Woah Ohh, and Heart Like a Boat).
Lisa & Jess have recorded a Christmas song! The girls have been tweeting about “getting our goth choir on” and “Merry Gothmas to me” so I think we can be fairly certain that it won’t be one of those sugar and spice Christmas songs. A new release song and video clip would be a fantastic Christmas present for all of us fans! I can’t wait to hear it :)
Jess & Billy were spotted out enjoying some of the sights in Mexico City yesterday, including the Teotihuacan Pyramids. Jess is in town with Billy who will be performing with his band the Smashing Pumpkins at the ‘MTV World Stage’ tomorrow night. The Smashing Pumpkins are currently on tour and Jess has said that she will be in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina with them next. I was really disappointed yesterday when I realized that our youtube account had been deleted by youtube. The Veronicas youtube account has also had most of their videos removed, so I’m not really sure what Lisa & Jess have done to breach their own copyright? lol I have created a new account for LTV, you can subscribe to us here. Because we think we’re really funny and obviously have too much time on our hands – me, hayley & a few of LTV’s favorite people have gotten together and created what I think is our best LTV video yet. “SMASHING Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has opened up about his relationship with Veronicas singer Jessica Origliasso.
Calling her “my Aussie girlfriend” and hailing her “homeless glam look” the pair met when he was asked to write a song with the Australian hitmakers.
“That was the beginning of the whirlwind,” Corgan told music writer Cameron Adams yesterday.
They’ve since bonded over Summer Heights High – “In an hour I was addicted” – and Corgan has written songs for the Veronicas’ next album.
The rock icon, 43, said he and Origliasso, 25, found each other at the right time.
“I was in a good place and that’s why I ended up in a good relationship. Both of us have been in stormy relationships,” he said.
“You’ve got to be ready to be in a great relationship. Being with someone as talented and beautiful as Jess is, you gotta be real.
“She’s brought a lot of sunshine into my life. But I was ready to receive it. I was open. If she’d met me a few years ago I don’t know if I would have understood her.

Let’s talk your girlfriend, Jessica Origliasso of the Veronicas. She’s a really beautiful person inside and out. Those two girls are so talented. I was recently in a writing session with them, they legit, and I’ve told them this, they could both be world class solo artists. It’s crazy they’re both together. They feed off each other’s strengths and weakness. It’s really interesting to watch them work. I really am impressed by both of them musically a lot. I’ve heard a lot of their new stuff, the direction they’re going is really really cool. It’s still very much pop music, but they’re so sophisticated in their knowledge of pop music.
So you’re writing with Jess and Lisa? It’s more hanging out fun stuff, not like a super pro thing. That’s how I met them, they asked me to write a song, that was the beginning of the whirlwind.

We both have Italian background, we laugh and say this is really an Italian relationship.
Is Jessica coming to Australia on this tour? Can’t say for sure but that’s the plan.
Have you performed on stage together yet? Not yet. They both love my song Eye, I’m hoping Jess and Lisa will get up and perform Eye with us at some point. We’ll see. She was with me in Mexico, I was trying to get her up on stage but she was too shy.
And you’ve met the parents? Yep. It’s all great. Everyone’s really nice. She comes from a great family. It’s all good.
So you’re going out with Australian pop royalty… She’s going out with American rock royalty.
You got photographed together on your visit to Australia with the sisters earlier this year. It’s all silliness to me. I’ve certainly heard about her past tabloid dramas! I’ve been through all that, to me it doesn’t mean anything. The good thing about being crazy is what are they going to say? He’s crazy? Uh huh. Oh he’s evil? Yeah. He’s old? Yes and getting older. It’s all there. None of it is going to affect me, I’m in a good place, I’m happy, I’m proud to have a woman like her on my arm. She’s someone I really look up to.”

On the new album & Christmas song Jess: “Early next year we’re wanting the record out. We’re lucky we’ve just done a song that’s going to be on a Charity record in Australia for Christmas. Its not the original song, but it might as well be because we completely re-wrote the melody and all the chords undearneath it. So, we’re kind of excited about that! But as far as new music that we’ve written, it’ll be early next year.“

Lisa & Jess attended Agnes Azria’s Bat Mitzah a few weeks ago and performed a couple of their songs. Agnes is the daughter of fashion designer Max Azria – Lisa & Jess sat front row at his fashion show at New York Fashion Week. Jess has touched down in Australia last night for the first time in about 6 months! She is in Perth with Billy, accompanying him on The Smashing Pumpkins tour of Australia. Jess has certainly been clocking up the frequent flyer points over the past few weeks, spending time in London, Paris, Bangkok and Jakarta. Welcome home Jess! :)

The Veronicas singer has joined Corgan for the Pumpkins’ visit Down Under, which hits Festival Hall tonight.
Origliasso introduced Corgan to Summer Heights High on DVD in the US (“by the second episode I was hooked”) and he yesterday accompanied her on a shopping trip around Melbourne.
Corgan, who has written a song called Pretty Pretty for the new Veronicas album, will meet the extended Origliasso clan in Brisbane next week: “I’ve already met the parents, but I haven’t met all the rest of the family, so we’ll see how that goes,” Corgan told music writer Cameron Adams, “I’ve got no tattoos, so I’m ahead of the game.”
Corgan, who yelled “I love you, Jess” from the stage in Adelaide this week, said his girlfriend had noted the band’s wide appeal.
“Jessica said she can’t believe the diversity of our audience: there’s stoners, kids, Gen-Xers, housewives,” he said. “That tells you how many audiences I’ve built and burnt.”

Wearing matching tees with the slogan ‘Mean People Wear Fur’, the girls signed autographs and generally just looked gorgeous (as usual!), to help raise awareness for the Anit-Fur campaign. This Saturday (October 30th) The Veronicas will be headlining the launch of Volkswagen’s latest models in Malaysia. They will be performing at the street celebration with other headline act Leona Lewis, and local artists – Liyana Fizi, Twilight Action Girl, Arabyrd, Bittersweet and more. There is no need to purchase tickets, just head down to Changkat Bukit Bintang on Saturday at 7pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for Malaysian fans to see The Veronicas live!

This weekend The Veronicas will be appearing on the Australian music show ‘Hit List TV’ (Southern Cross Ten Network). One of the hosts, Renee was in LA and got to hang out with the girls a few weeks ago! Last night Lisa & Jess flew into Malaysia for their performance at the “Are you Volkswagen Enough?” free street party which is to be held in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow night (details here). A couple of hours ago Lisa & Jess attended the artist press conference and spend time doing some one on one interviews with the local media. Up to 10,000 people are expected to attend the free launch of Volkswagen’s new models, and streets will be closed off to accommodate the crowd. On another note, earlier this afternoon, I posted a story about a radio station in the US playing new exclusive Veronicas music last night. I have removed the story from the site because I have been informed that the information the radio station had posted (on their facebook & twitter) is incorrect.

Last night The Veronicas performed in Malaysia at the ‘Are you Volkswagen enough?’ Street Party. The set list included hit songs such as, Take Me On The Floor, Hook Me Up, When It All Falls Apart, and 4Ever. Signed Volkswagen Frisbees were tossed into the crowd during the night, with some lucky fans getting to take home a very unique piece of Veronicas memorabilia. It’s that time of year again, when all good little Veronicas fans start plotting a surprise for Lisa & Jess’ birthday (and christmas!). For those of you that don’t know, Lisa & Jess’ birthday is on the 25th of December and they will be celebrating their 26th birthday this year! Over the past few weeks Lisa & Jess have been back in the recording studio hanging out with Cherie Currie (from ‘The Runaways‘), Matt Sorum (former ‘Guns N’ Roses‘ band member), and they’ve even written a song with Nick Jonas! There is still no official release date for the new album, just that it will be released some time in the first quarter of 2011. Lisa tweeted a few days ago “The Veronicas are ready to change the face of pop music for 2011” – I can’t wait!

“Dead Cool Dropouts are: Tyler Bryant ( Tyler Bryant Band ) and Lisa Marie ( The Veronicas ) We met a few months ago and started hanging out and writing some music together. We’ve had a lot of requests to play you guys some of the stuff we’ve been working on, so we thought we’d put up a song we wrote called ‘Green eyes make me blue’. We recorded it on garage band in Tyler’s amazing studio (a corner in his room) and threw it down really quick because, quite frankly, we were really hungry and wanted star bagel (If you live in Nashville, you know what we’re talkin about). Ended up with this little raw, uncut ‘moment’ we thought we’d share“.

“JESS and Lisa Origliasso from the Veronicas can have their hair done by any stylist in the world. But the singing bookends still choose to fly back from their adopted home of the US to Brisbane to have their locks trimmed by old friend Darcy Stratford of Fabrik Hair in Fortitude Valley.
Darcy has been the twins’ hair stylist since they were 13 and Lisa told Confidential they wouldn’t have it any other way. “Darcy is the only person I let touch my hair,” she said.“

We’ve heard a couple of new songs over the past few months, which have been pretty good, but this 19 second clip has gotten me really excited for what we can expect from the new album! On Sunday night Jess will be joining over 30 Australian celebrities to help raise money for Queensland as they endure the worst floods in a generation. You can watch the 2 hour show from 7:30pm AEDT (check you local TV guide) on Channel Nine. Jess will be helping staff the phones, so if you would like a opportunity to talk to Jess and donate some money to a very worthy cause – here’s your opportunity! Jess took time out of her Christmas break tonight to help out on the phones at the Queensland Flood Relief. In the 3+ hours that the show was on, over $10 million was raised – adding to the $20 million that had already been raised! You can still donated online, here. As most of you would know by now, Jess attended the Queensland Flood Relief Appeal on Sunday night to help raise money for the victims of the devastating Queensland floods. Unfortunately since Sunday night, the situation has worsened with lives being lost in flash flooding, the rain continuing to fall and the water levels continuing to rise. Jess is still in her home town of Brisbane, and waiting for the worst of the flood to hit this Thursday. Queensland is in its 19th day of this disaster, with more rain on its way. My thoughts go out to all the victims of the floods, and I hope Jess, her family & friends stay safe. <3

Tonight Jess spoke to Matty & Charli at Hot30 radio about the floods. You can listen to the interview here (Jess comes on around half way through the podcast). It broke my heart listening to Jess speak of how sad it was in Brisbane at the moment, and that it is like a ghost town. Like many Brisbane residents, Jess has been without power today, and it may be some days before it comes back on. The flood water in Brisbane is expected to peak tomorrow morning at 4am (Brisbane time).
Unfortunately it seems that Jess & Lisa’s warehouse (where a lot of their musical equipment & merchandise are stored) will go under in this devastating flood – but as Jess mentioned, “possessions can be replaced, its people that can’t”. Our hearts go out to everyone that has been effected in any way by these floods. If you’d like to donate, you can here.

“THE Veronicas will return to their home district of Pine Rivers this weekend to raise money for flood victims. Albany Creek’s biggest pop exports, twins Lisa and Jess Origliasso, will meet fans and sign autographs at the Club Pine Rivers Flood Relief Benefit Day on Sunday. The Veronicas’ brother and manager, Julian Origliasso, said the sisters jumped at the chance to be a part of the event when Strathpine-based Senator Mark Furner asked them. “Having grown up in Queensland, and Pine Rivers in particular, they want to do all they can to support the communities that have been such great supporters of their music throughout their lives,’’ their brother said. The sisters are in Brisbane recording their third album at Pinkenba, a project almost disrupted when the Brisbane River threatened the inner-northeast studio last week. “There was some concern (the studio) might go under, so we had to make sure we had all the preparations in place so we didn’t lose all of our equipment,’’ he said. “We were lucky because they didn’t get that high … it came to car park,’’ he said. Jess’s home — in Fortitude Valley — was also spared, while Lisa was holidaying in the US when the flood hit. Sunday will be Jess’s second flood appeal effort, after manning the phones during the News Queensland/Nine Network appeal. Julian Origliasso said there was also talk of a Michael Gudinski benefit concert, which the sisters were keen to be involved in. The Veronicas are just two of the drawcards at this Sunday’s event, with organisers hoping to secure Brisbane Broncos and Brisbane Lions players. “VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N’ ROSES drummer Matt Sorum is putting the finishing touches on the new album from Cherie Currie (THE RUNAWAYS), tentatively due later this year. The CD will feature additional contributions from Nick Maybury (PERRY FARRELL, MINK) and Grant Fitzpatrick (MINK) and is described by Sorum as “a great representation of Cherie’s voice.” He revealed to VH1 Radio Networks’ Dave Basner, “I told her when I said I’d produce it, ‘You have to trust me on this. You need to make a cool, current rock and roll album.’ The album is very much a rock album with some depth.” Matt told VH1 Radio Networks he’s recruited some of his famous friends to help out on the effort. “It’s sounding great; I’m really excited about that,” he said. “Slash [VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N’ ROSES] played on it, Duff [McKagan; VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N’ ROSES] played on it, I got Billy Corgan [SMASHING PUMPKINS] on a track, THE VERONICAS are coming in, Juliette Lewis, Courtney Love…”

Lisa & Jess attended the Pine Rivers Flood Relief Fundraiser yesterday to help raise much needed funds for those effected by the devastating Queensland floods. The girls signed autographs and posed for photos with fans. Lisa tweeted this about the day, “Amazing day at Pine Rivers bowls club for the QLD flood relief fundraiser!! Mark Furner, The Lions boys, Rocket, Peter and the club!!! and thanks to everyone who came out and supported! x“.
Yesterday Lisa headed back to her favourite hair salon ‘Fabrik Hair‘, for a new do! You can see a photo of Lisa’s gorgeous new hair above. What do you guys think of it? Today Lisa & Jess were in the studio with Cherie Currie (The Runaways) and Matt Sorum (former Guns & Roses band member). The girls were recording vocals for Cherie’s new album, which is due to be out later this year! Lisa & Jess are now back in America to finish off their 3rd album – hopefully we’ll get some indication soon on when we can expect its release!

To wrap up their V busy week at New York’s ‘Fall’ Fashion Week, Lisa & Jess attended Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B Fashion Show and spent most of the day filming with MTV! Last night, Jess had her “favorite name in the world” tattooed on the inside of her right arm, you can check out the photo here.

Lisa and Jessica Origliasso expect to release their yet-to-be-titled third album mid-year in Australia and the US, where they are based. “Because it’s been a while since we have released music, it is a little different from what people would expect from the last two records,” Jessica told Insider. Fans, don’t be alarmed, The Veronicas are still pop. “It’s pop, a pop record, it’s just got different undertones,” said Lisa. “We are being influenced by more classic music, classic rock’n’roll, but still being influenced by what’s going on in pop right now.” The Veronicas’ last album, Hook Me Up, peaked at No. 2 on the local ARIA charts and, in the US, topped the Billboard Top Heatseekers. Last night, Lisa & Jess attended Spiderman on Broadway in New York – the show Officially opens on March 15th. The girls went to visit their good friend Reeve Carney, who is currently staring in Spiderman ‘Turn off the Dark’ as Peter Parker (aka, Spiderman). Light it Up Blue and Autism Awareness Month.
Autism is the most common developmental disorder in Australia, effecting 1 in 160 children. However there is very little support and understanding for people with autism and their families. Autism has had a huge effect on me and my family, especially over the past 2 years with my nephew. We have experienced the difficulties in not only getting a diagnostic, but accessing support and therapy to assist my nephew, we have seen doctors at hospital treat him like an animal because they think he doesn’t understand because at his age he is non verbal, and teacher aides be so insensitive to his needs that it was detrimental to his progress.
Tomorrow sees the start of Autism Awareness Month, and Light it up Blue, which will see buildings all over the world light up blue to raise awareness for Autism. Buildings like the Sydney Oprah House and the Empire State Building will be participating.
We here at LTV are very passionate about this cause, and hope that you show your support. Show your support by wearing blue tomorrow (April 1st), adding blue lights to your outside fixtures and of course by spreading the word online.

Thank You for your incredible patience while we’ve been growing and transforming ;) I should warn you, We are doing this interview in our pajamas……… at 5:12 PM in the afternoon……….
Q. Who is the coolest person you have had a chance to hang out with while writing the album? Feel free to name drop ;)
We have been rather experimentative from the beginning of this record, in forming creative relationships with different people. Some people we’ve worked with before, such as Toby Gad (who we wrote untouched with), to collaborating with new producers such as Fernando Garibay (New Lady Gaga), and one of our Favourite songwriter/producers Gary Clarke (Natalie Imbruglia, Liz Phair). Upon meeting Gary, we instantly formed a musical kinship that has lead to the three of us writing a majority of songs for this record together. We have worked with Artist friends of ours for sonic perspectives, and inspiration as well, such as Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Butch Vig, Tyler Bryant, Illsey Juber & Alison Porter (The Canyons). Just getting in a room, and jamming ideas has been a beautifully inspiring, and important process to this creating of this record.
In the POP world, music style/sonic’s have become so over saturated with ever changing/borrowing/stealing/whoring of the same sounds..we as the listener become confused and desensitized to who is who, and what is coming from the Artist, and what is coming from the guidelines of the industry. We wanted to make sure what we were creating felt grounded in our identity as The Veronicas, even while working with some producers that seem to have a hand in everyone’s pie right now. We have been focusing on pushing them out of that box, while appreciating their POP sensibility and success, which in turn has help to push us to places we’ve never been.
Q. Will the album be released at the same time on iTunes & hard copy all around the world? As much as we would like to have control over decisions such as that, most of it falls under what we call ‘music politics’. But in Veronicas dreamland, we would hope so ;)
We have changed management since the last record, & the all the people we’ve worked with at our Label Warner Brothers have completely changed as well. It has been the main contributor as to why this record is taking 4 times as long to come out as the last one. We are working closely now with all new people, and we are feeling good about this release being simultaneous all around the world.
Q. Have you chosen the first single off the new record yet? And if you have, can you give us any hints or clues about it?
There is a lot of talk about which song should be a first single. We don’t have a definitive decision on that just yet. All we can tell you is that the Sonic and Lyrical direction of this record is a Dramatisation of our emotions/ Visual Art/ Musical influence/ reflections on society, and the world around us. The conceptual message, looking at the body of work thus far, seems to scream Mirror. A mirror of us, our experiences, our lovers, our enemies, our idols, our gods. Finding ourselves in the strangest of places, some we would never expect, or even want.
I think we’ve really found ourselves in the process of this record. I know for sure that we aren’t the same woman who made the last record. We have fallen into ourselves, Fallen in love, out of love, fallen, and got back up.. we are ready to claim our creations with a new energy & a new light.
Q. Do you girls ever disagree on who will sing certain parts of a song? and if you do disagree… how do you resolve the problem?
Haha, YES! .. by now we know eachothers voices well enough to know who should sing what.. But we still experiment. It also depends on the song. Some feel more Personal to one of us. We don’t feel it has to be ‘even’ all the time. Sometimes we just yell and scream until one of us gets our way ;)
Q. How many songs do you expect to have on the album?
We are thinking about 10 songs for the New Record.
We are also working on a new side project together, which we can’t say too much about just yet.. but its going to be a departure from what we do in The Veronicas.
Q. Are you more excited to release this album than previous ones?
We feel a different kind of ownership, and attachment to this record definitely. We are incredibly proud of the way the last two records have ‘grown us up’ in a strange sense. The process, and touring, the chance to express ourselves through our innocence and learning. But this record is our coming into what we really dreamed for The Veronicas. We know what we’re doing now.. We enjoyed the ride from the past records, but this time we’re taking the drivers seat.

Q. What’s your favorite item in your wardrobe at the moment?
Jessica: To be honest i’ve been on an Anti Fashion movement for the past few weeks. I refuse to wear anything other than my pajamas…. that I stole from Lisa. Also a top hat i’ve adopted, also stolen from Miss Lisa Marie.
Lisa: I’ve fallen in love with the late 60’s and 70’s rock era of fashion lately, and adopted a black felt 1960’s vintage hat of Jessicas (Which I’ve conveniently ‘forgetton’ to give back) ;) and beaded multi-colored gypsy earrings.
Q. What’s the coolest thing you’ve done in the past month?
Jessica: Billy.
Lisa: Being invited to go to Fashion week in New York City was definitely a high light this month for me.

A few weeks ago Lisa created a Facebook Fanpage and now Jessica has created one too! It looks like Jess has had to make her own page as a measure to try and stop fake sites saying things that are not true. I am aware that there is a lot of fake sites that exist on Facebook (and other social media sites) that deceive people into thinking that they are the real Lisa & Jessica Veronica. If you do come across one of these sites please report them to Facebook and have them removed :) Make sure you ‘like’ the REAL Jessica on her Facebook Fanpage and if you haven’t already go ‘like’ Lisa as well!

TVMB is (for those of you that don’t know) The Veronicas Message Board – it is the Official forum for The Veronicas. It’s a place for fans all around the World to interact, enjoy each others company and talk about all things Veronica. Lots of the regular visitors to TVMB have disappeared during the past 12-18 months (including me), but Lisa’s tweet saying simple that she misses TVMB – has made me think about all the good times we all used to have on the board, and I agree.. Now that I’ve had a chance to have a good listen to all of the new Veronicas songs from Lisa & Jess’ performance at the Viper Room last night, I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on the new music!
Cold appears to be a fan favourite already, and I have to say that it’s probably the one that I’m most drawn to. With it’s cool intro and catchy chorus I can deffinitely see this song being one of my favourite Veronicas songs. I almost feel like there is something familiar about Cold, not that it reminds me of any other song, but I just feel like I’ve been listening to it for years – which is always a good sign with music! Cold is so hot.
My Best Mistake is probably the song that’s most likely to get suck in my head for days! I think it will deffinitely be a hit on the radio, with AT LEAST a top 10 here in Australia.
Baby I’m Ready (To do what I want) is the most rebelious of the new songs – making me feel like I want to jump around my room with my hands in the air, screaming the lyrics. I’m in love with the beat of the song, and I can’t wait to experience this song live!
Dead Cool is probably the most rocky of the songs, with a cool pub-rock feel to it. It will be really interesting to hear the studio version of this!
Let Me Out is a perfect platform for Lisa & Jess to really show off their beatiful unique voices! This song really grows on me the more and more I listen to it.
And what can I say about Bang Bang? Lisa & Jess are the queens of cover songs, and never fail to amaze me with their ability to deliever a unique version of classic songs. I really loved this!
Over all, I think the girls have deleivered as promised – songs that really do come from their hearts, and I am beyond excited to hear the studio versions. Well done girls, I for one, am VERY proud of you both <3 Let us know what you think of the songs, by commenting below :)

Lisa & Jess talked about their Viper Room gig, the new sound of the record, when the new music will be released and that the girls would really like to do some secret shows for Australia later in the year! The Veronicas played their second and final show at the Viper Room, last night in L.A. I’m a little disappointed we haven’t gotten to hear Psycho B*tch yet, but hopefully someone might upload that later! Last night, The Veronicas attended Perez Hilton’s Pre-VMA Charity Event ‘One Night in Los Angeles’. A percentage of the proceeds from the event went towards GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network). From a few videos tweeted from the event, the packed house seemed to be having a blast singing along to well known Veronicas hits – Untouched and 4Ever! The Veronicas appeared on tonight’s episode of X-Factor Australia! Lisa & Jess were guest judges on the show, helping Ronan Keating cull his groups down. The girls looked absolutely gorgeous! Lisa & Jess will be re-appearing on the show on Monday night (at 7:30pm on channel 7) to help further thin the ranks of Ronan’s groups. After Lisa & Jess’ impressive appearance on X-Factor, The Veronicas were trending on Australian Twitter (screencap here). Lisa & Jess performed at the ‘Boy Meets Girl’ show held in New York yesterday! The event marked the 10 year anniversary of the first store opening for ‘Boy Meets Girl’. Proceeds from some of the sales on the night will be donated to the American Red Cross to help victims families of 9/11. You can view photos from the show, here.
The Veronicas appeared on X-Factor (Australia) tonight during Bootcamp Day 2. Lisa & Jess helped Ronan select his final 6 groups, that will then go onto the next stage of the competition. Lisa & Jess flew back into Australia this week for a surprise performance at the Australian WHO Magazine ‘Sexiest People Party’ in Sydney on Thursday night. In our biggest hint yet as to what we can expect from The Veronicas third album (which is rumoured to be released June/July) – Billy Corgan has talked to V Music and TripleJ about his involvement in the new album.
“The Splendour in the Grass headliner revealed details about the collaboration in an interview with triple j telling The Doctor: “I play guitar on one song. There’s this really great track they have that’s probably going to be the opening track. I don’t know what they’re going to call it; it was tentatively called I’m a Veronica. I know it sounds funny but there’s strange aggressive rapping on it so in the middle of the song it breaks down in to a kinda heavy metal song with a super demonic Black Sabbath type riff. It’s easily the best album they’ve ever made. They’ve worked so hard and I’ve been intimately involved on a lot of levels.”
Personally, I’ll die if there’s any song that mentions anything to do with being a Veronica!!

The surprise has landed! The Veronicas have announced that their new album is going to be titled ‘Life on Mars’! The album will be released everywhere September/October this year! The girls traveled to Western Australia a couple of weeks ago to shoot the album cover for Life on Mars. The Veronicas have posted another lyric teaser from ‘Lolita’ on their Facebook & Twitter pages today. This lyric teaser is “You’re making a comeback, I’m taking your crown”. For those that missed it, the previous lyric teaser was “I’m your Lolita, la femme Nikita. When we’re together, you’ll love me forever”.
The Veronicas will start filming their music video for Lolita later today, with director Spencer Susser. Spencer has a very impressive portfolio, having written and directed ‘Hesher’ – staring actors such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Piper Laurie and Natalie Portman.

“FOUR years of living in each other’s pockets can be a test for the closest of bonds – even twins. While it’s been five years since chart-topping Aussie duo The Veronicas last put out a studio album, Jess and Lisa Origliasso have been anything but idle.
Their second release, Hook Me Up, which went to No.2 on the ARIA charts here, turned out to be the album that just kept on giving, with a US release in 2008 and a UK release 2009. By the time the twins had finished touring the album in 2010, they were heartily sick of it – and each other.

Over 6000 fans tuned in to watch The Veronicas live Ustream broadcast today! Lisa & Jess answered a number of questions submitted by fans and shared the news that the album may not be called Life On Mars. The girls went on to explain that because of the length of time it has taken to complete the creative process they may change the name of the album to suit the music that they are currently writing. Lisa & Jess arrived back home to Brisbane last Tuesday, after spending the past few months in LA putting the final touches on The Veronicas new record. The girls will be having some much deserved time off while the record is being mixed. It’s not clear yet whether the album will still be called ‘Life on Mars’, but I for one can’t wait to get my hands on a copy! :) Hopefully there will be news soon on a new single!

“Last month, 60 Minutes broadcast the story of nine-year-old Emma Hayes. Emma has gender dysphoria – born as a boy, but in her mind she’s a girl. Thousands of people were inspired by Emma’s courage, including The Veronicas, who invited her over to share some of their “girl power”.”
Last Saturday night, Lisa & Jess made a quick visit to Newcastle to host the re-launch of UNITY Nightclub. It was a great night, with over 1200 people attending the event!
Lisa & Jess were greeted at UNITY by a room full of fans who’d bought VIP tickets – the girls spent quite a lot of time taking photos and talking to fans. The girls signed everything from posters, stomachs to boobs!
One of the highlights of the night was definitely when ‘Lolita’ came on and we all got up on the stage and danced. I had a fantastic night! Learnt a few new dance moves from Lisa and now have a new favourite alcoholic beverage thanks to Jess.

I’ve been watching Warner Records delaying tactics on this album for years now and cannot for the life of me understand why it would seem like a good idea to keep delaying this album? It surely is not good business practice to keep artists from releasing and promoting music.

“Twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso from The Veronicas have signed up to promote the charity day, which is aiming to raise $3.4 million (a sum that would provide 25,000 families with a nights accommodation at Ronald McDonald House) this year when it takes palace on Saturday, 9th of November. After years of obvious artistic differences, The Veronicas have split from their record label (Warner) and are now independent artists. Lisa & Jess were in Melbourne last week to attend Victoria Derby Day – part of the Melbourne Cup Carnival here in Australia. The girls wore matching suits from Topshop Australia and completed their very glamorous look with their own Vintage hats! Some of the other celebrities to attend the day were Naomi Campbell, Jennifer Hawkins, Lara Bingle, Jamie Durie, Mel B and Kris Smith.
Lisa & Jess will be visiting some of the Ronald McDonald House Charities across Australia this week to cook their favourite home made meal (Raw Zucchini Pesto) for the families there. Remember that McHappy Day is on this Saturday (November 9th).

Last Saturday The Veronicas collected donations at the Darling Quarter McDonalds in Sydney, for McHappy Day 2013! The girls met fans, posed for photos and signed autographs. The Veronicas travelled down to Wollongong last night for an appearance at Industry Nightclub. The girls were there to help celebrate the opening of the club! On Tuesday night The Veronicas attended the Foxtel Summer Music Launch in Sydney. “It was a star-studded affair in Sydney last night as Alicia Keys hit the stage at the Foxtel Music Channels’ Summer Launch party to celebrate the launch of the new Foxtel Music line-up, featuring the two new MTV channels, MTV Music and MTV Dance!” And tonight The Veronicas attended the grand opening of TopShop in Brisbane! Lisa & Jess had a totally quiche day on Sunday, meeting the wonderful Chris Lilley at his signing in Brisbane. I’m sure it’s going to hurt like hell, but I’m super excited & ready for new art”

The Veronicas new single ‘ You Ruin Me’ is available for pre-order on iTunes now. This is the lead single of their new album (the album is due to be released sometime in November). You Ruin Me, will hit airwaves next Thursday (11 September) and will be released on Friday the 19th of September. The Veronicas had a very busy day, starting with the Sunrise studio in Sydney (videos below) talking about their new hit single You Ruin Me with Kochie and Sam. They also did a signing for fans in Sydney – then jumped on a plane to Melbourne to perform at the Melbourne Show. They performed an acoustic set of 4Ever and You Ruin Me, followed by a meet and great – getting to meet lots of their very loyal fans!

The Veronicas have done it again! A massive congratulations to Lisa & Jess for their 3rd week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart!! You Ruin Me has also gone Platinum in Australia. November 21st is rumoured to be the most likely date for the release of The Veronicas self titled 3rd album! Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, I’m sure more details will be released soon.
Last night (Tuesday) The Veronicas performed a private showcase of their new album for Australian Media and friends, at the Sydney Opera house. The attendees were treated to a stunning selection of tracks from their upcoming self-titled album, as well as an old fave – 4Ever. I was privileged enough to attend the evening, and can honestly say that The Veronicas are going to slay. The album will be available for Pre-Order in Australia from this Friday (24th October). Stay tuned for more exciting announcements from The Veronicas soon!

The Veronicas debut on the ARIA Album Chart this week at #2 missing out the #1 spot to Taylor Swift by just less than 150 copies! The album was #1 on the Australian Album Charts going gold the first week!

Lisa and Jess returned to Australia after a whirlwind promo trip to New Zealand earlier this week. The Veronicas met with competition winners at the iHeartRadio promo gig and charmed radio and television hosts with over a dozen appearances in their 2 day stay in the land of the long white cloud. The lovely ladies were in NZ to promote the release of their album. The v busy schedule continues today for Lisa and Jess with the Red Room fan gig in their hometown of Brisbane.
