Warner Music is only interested in money, not music or fans. They need to take a reality check! It is the customers who pay record company people their wages, and the record companies take almost 50% of an artist’s royalties. This is no wonder that the major record labels are losing ground at the moment and independent and artist-owned labels are making a comeback because they put the fans first before profits.
The Veronicas have grown up since 2007 and are going to be 30 next year, plus they have outgrown their manufactured pop sound and want to explore more roots music like country, blues, swamp rock and rock’n’roll.
No record label should be dictating how an artist should sound or look, their job is to press and distribute the records and CDs. Warners should let them out of their contract as they obviously don’t think of them as a priority act anymore. It’d be for the best. True Veronicas fans don’t care about chart positions, they will buy whatever Jess and Lisa put out no matter what musical genre they do.

This is insane. How is it a good idea to make people who have been waiting years for new music wait even longer?! I’m so outraged. I don’t ever tweet but I tweeted wbr and gave them a piece of my mind. I love Lisa and Jess so much and this waiting is horrendous. I’ve never waited so long for one album. But I love The V-Ron’s and their music so of course I’m not going anywhere. But may I say, WBR is being very rude to the Vfamily.

There’s something going on here that we aren’t aware of. I wouldn’t be so quick to place all the blame on WBR. We waited a long time for the girls to make the music they wanted to make, and all we got was “Lolita”? I think WBR probably has very high expectations for Jess and Lisa, because they know that the Veronicas are extremely talented. I personally think they should stop with the electronica stuff that sounds so much like what so many other artists are doing out there, get into the studio with their band, and write and record some real music. Real instruments, good old fashioned great songwriting, and just go organic. I just can’t understand why they don’t do this. If they put out a record that captures their music the way they sound live, I can’t see it disappointing anyone. Nothing has sounded real since the first record, and every song they performed from “Hook Me Up” sounded better stripped down and performed by the band live. Perhaps it’s time to put down the laptops and pick up the instruments. They have a great band behind them (better when Vik Foxx was still there), and they should put them to use.
